Most people, even, Christians, view the bible as a great book, an awesome compilation of stories. But many of us never recognize the Bible as being a living document. Its Gods expose to us into who he is. Its not just a book, its words that offer life to the reader.
Often, some who do read the Word stop and accept that knowing the stories, principles and parables is good enough. Sadly, theyre missing out on the greatest aspect of what those words do.
The words of the Bible are not inherently powerful on their own, they dont breed life into a person because of sentence structure or some super mysterious supernatural mumbo jumbo… Its so much more than that.
The Word of God brings us life because it points us to Jesus.
“You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! (John 5:39 NLT)
The power in the Word is its revelation of who Christ is. Its an intimate connection between you and the Creator. It opens up a level of communication that allows God to speak uniquely to each reader in a new way every time its opened, through the power of His holy spirit.
The Word has the ability to being life to your day in a way that nothing else can. There is nothing in this world that can compare to the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.
Open the word today and open your mind to a unique revelation directly from the throne of Heaven itself. Dont read it as a book, read it as a letter written from a best friend who just wants to be a part of your every day life. And a best friend who just happens to be ruler of all of creation… How cool is that?!
